Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park TECHNIQUEST Interactive Science ExhibitsNew at the Farm Park this year is the Techniquest interactive science experience. Techniquest features; Bernoulli Blower
Air blowing over the beach ball lifts it into the air in the same way that air flowing over a wing lifts an aircraft. Orbits
The table is shaped so that balls rolling on it follow similar paths to planets around two stars. The steeper the slope of the table, the stronger the force of gravity. Orb
The layer of liquid between two plastic domes contains small, shiny, flat crystals of mica, which show up the flow lines when the liquid moves. If you spin the dome, you see flow patterns reminiscent of the movement seen in the atmosphere of the planet Jupiter. Powers of Ten
A range of images are stored in the computer memory, ranging from the unimaginably huge to the incredibly small. You can zoom from inside the nucleus of an atom to beyond the Milky Way. Crazy Crane
Crazy Crane is operated by four strings which pull through the corner posts. The crane is very difficult to use because the strings are connected to the handles in a crazy way. Thermochromic
Thermochromic uses films of liquid crystals which change colour at certain temperatures. Three films are provided which change colour at different temperatures. Look at the colour changes produced when you press your hand underneath them. Camp Fire
Pyramid Piles
Vocal Vowels
Garden Gate
